About Padel

The world's fastest-growing racket sport

What is Padel?

Padel (also known as padel tennis) is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. Played in doubles on an enclosed court about one-third the size of a tennis court, it's easy to learn, highly social, and incredibly fun for all ages and skill levels.

The sport was invented in Mexico in the 1960s and has since exploded in popularity, particularly in Spain and Latin America. Today, padel has over 35 million weekly players globally and is rapidly expanding across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

How to Play

🎾 The Court

  • • 20m x 10m (one-third of tennis court)
  • • Enclosed by glass walls and mesh fencing
  • • Net in the middle (similar to tennis)
  • • Balls can be played off the walls

🏓 The Equipment

  • • Solid padel racket (no strings)
  • • Slightly depressurized tennis-like ball
  • • Tennis shoes or court shoes
  • • Most courts provide rental rackets

⚡ The Rules

  • • Always played in doubles (4 players)
  • • Underhand serve (like in pickleball)
  • • Score like tennis (15, 30, 40, game)
  • • Ball must bounce before hitting wall

🚀 The Strategy

  • • Use walls strategically
  • • Teamwork is essential
  • • Less running than tennis
  • • Mix power and placement

Why People Love Padel

👥

Social by Design

Padel requires 4 players, making it inherently social. The compact court size keeps everyone close, encouraging communication and camaraderie. It's called "the new LinkedIn" for good reason!

🎯

Easy to Learn

Beginners can play socially after just 3 lessons. The smaller court, softer ball, and wall play make it more forgiving than tennis while still offering depth for advanced players.

💪

Great Exercise

Fast-paced rallies provide an excellent cardiovascular workout without the joint stress of tennis. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

🎾

Year-Round Play

Many Singapore venues offer indoor or sheltered courts with air-conditioning, making padel comfortable even in tropical weather. Play rain or shine!

🌍

Global Community

With 35 million players worldwide, you can play padel almost anywhere you travel. It's a passport to instant social connections in new cities.
